This is a well built quality piece of technology. It works nicely. I was looking for a projector to project images onto an 8" X 10" canvas - the dimension that I commonly use for my art. Unfortunately, the L300 needs a minimum distance of approximately 1000mm to achieve this, which makes overhead a little difficult as most tabletop attached supports have a maximum height of less than 1000mm. So I have had to put the L300 on a tripod and project the image onto a wall, which is not ideal. As mentioned, it is a quality product, but unfortunately not ideal for my particular needs.
Thank you for the thoughtful review. LCD models do tend to have a longer throw, although the L300 is one of the very few LCD projectors that can still operate at relatively short distances compared with most alternatives. You are correct that it still requires around 1.1 m of throw to achieve smaller image sizes.
For overhead use, this can exceed the height of many tabletop mounts. Cost-effective tripods that reach this height do exist, such as the Victiv boom arm (www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CBKDJP9D) we recommended. Alternatively, longer boom arms with desk clamps can work, or for a dedicated setup, an overhead rig is the most stable solution if budget allows. We are also working on a boom arm option with a bigger desk clamp and taller arm.
The L300 remains a well-built, reliable option where sufficient throw distance can be achieved, but projector type and mounting method are key factors when working with very small canvases.

I bought this projector, as it was highly recommended for art work. I only just started to use it to help sketch out an image on a canvas. It was straightforward to set up the screen mirroring from my iPhone.
The issues I’ve run into so far are 1) while scrolling on my phone for an image to sketch, the screen mirroring freezes, 2) the automatic keystone function does not seem to “square up” the image, and 3) the focus is not as crisp as I would like with the short distance between the projector and the canvas. A greater distance, and clearer image means the image is too large for the canvas.
Thanks for the detailed feedback. The L300 is widely used for artwork because of its bright image, accurate colour and simple phone mirroring, which makes roughing out compositions quick and accessible.
Screen mirroring pauses are typically phone or app related rather than the projector itself, as live mirroring depends on the source device staying active. The automatic keystone is designed for light alignment correction, not precision squaring, which is why artists often leave it off and align manually for best results.
As an LCD projector, the L300 is optimised for mid-range projection. At very short distances, focus softness is expected. If you need a sharp image at close range on smaller canvases, a DLP projector with a shorter throw ratio is the better tool for that specific use case.
